The 3rd grade team started the YBA "busy season" with a BANG!
Playing in the 4th grade division, they were physically outmatched against a taller Reno Ballers team, but their defense and hustle prevailed, and converted layups led to a win. Malik Jackson was Offensive & Defensive Player of the Game (many steals and converted layups), Matt Limon gets the Hustle Award, and Alex Portello gets the Best Attitude Award.
Playing against crosstown rivals Rocktown Ballers, again the players found themselves on the "short" end of the stick. They brought their hustle and great defense once again, and were able to run away with a win. Jayden Ohara was the Offensive Player of the Game, Jaedon Pughsley had the Best Attitude, Tanner Gomes gets the Best Hustle Award, and Handre Reinecke gets the Defensive Player of the Game award.
The championship game was against a very good CJBA team. Our kids were a little tired, but played hard, but were outmatched from the get go. We lost, but all players kept their heads high and played their hearts out. Alex Portello gets the Offensive Player of the Game award, Matt Limon was the Defensive Player of the Game, Riley Burrows had the Best Attitude and Parker Stone gets the Hustle Award.
It was a great weekend for the 3rd grade Xtreme team!!
