The 5th Grade YBA Xtreme blue team captured their fourth Championship in the last six weeks by defeating the Bruins in Rocklin High Schools big gym. Without Jade Fodrill, or Arthur (birthday) the guys managed to step up with some huge rebounds from Jackson (Academic All-American) and Todd (voted best hair in America). New-comer Parker also stepped in to play the post position and showed some talented moves to the hoop.
With 3:30 left in the forth quarter and after three lackadaisical quarters, coach Garcia called a time out and enthusiastically reminded the guys that they had tiger's blood and were winners (sort of). Down by 8points with 1:30 left the guys press shut down the Bruins and after huge steels from Derek aka Steve Nash junior, and Jacob "hot sauce" Cruz, the guys got it within one point...with 20 seconds left the guys patiently used the clock to get the the best shot possible. After three missed attempts, RJ aka Big Shot RJ picked the ball up and hit what ended up being the game winning shot with 2.6 seconds left.
What a great victory and another championship in the book, great job guys!
