YBA-X found themselves faced off against an opponent that is qquickly becoming a nemesis of theirs. Playing a very familiar FEBA team from Folsom, the game was sure to be a close one, as they have been in the past. The team passed the ball very well and had some great moments, but the Bulldogs were toomuch and in the end, the YBA-X team lost by six. Coaches were proud that the team hung in there and played hard throughout the game.
The second game was against a Predators 3rd grade team. Though the Predators were quick, the YBA-X used great teamwork and defense to easily defeat the Predators.
The last game saw the YBA-X team play the only 4th grade team in the division - the Davis Wildcats. Being 4th graders, they were bigger and more physical than us. Because of their size and length, the YBA-X team had a tough time breaking the press which caused many turnovers. The team did not quit and kept fighting. Again, they passed the ball well and made some great baskets, but the turnovers were too much and
the YBA-X team dropped their last game of the day.
Overall, the coaches felt it was a successful tournament as success is not always determined by the win-loss record. We saw many great passes, and flashed of great teamwork which we can build upon in making this team a very good team.
