5th Grade Blue-January 29-30
In our first game against the Reno Ballers we learned the importance of "helping the helper" and man to man defensive rotations. Jade had a huge game for us crashing the boards and finishing down low. Adam Orr also played big down the stretch and hit some key buckets. Despite being down ten points most of the game, we battled back to cut the lead to four. Matt was the hustler of the game and hit a huge three to cut the lead and make it a close ball game. In game two, we struggled to make shots, but saw some great on ball defense by both Jacob Cruz and Derek. Our defensive rotations improved and Todd and Jackson rebounded strong. We lost to the yellow jackets. In our last game, the guys came out with fire and rebounded, rotated, and trapped hard. Adam Orr was a beast on the boards and Matt, Derek, Jacob, and Diego shot the ball great. We won by sixteen and Jade was the hustler of the game and made sown great post moved down low. All in all, it was a great learning weekend!
