YBA Xtreme White vs. Incline  - Loss OT
Saturday 3/5/11 at 2:25 p.m.YBA squared off against Incline and lost in overtime 47 - 44.  Definitely our best effort to date even better execution wise than our 1 win last season as we came back from over 9 down to make this a 1 point game most of the second half. A few more converted transition baskets and a few more defensive rebounds and this was our game so we are where we want to be…competing. Good patience on offense and good defense kept us in this barn burner with several lead changes. Keys for improvement from this game: finish off transition baskets, maintain perimeter spacing on offense, look for the screener who is rolling, boxing out on defense, and seeing back side cutters on defense.
  • Defense player of the game:  whole team
  • Offense player of the game: Sanam Bains, Cody Abendschein, Mathew Dzwilewski
  • Best Hustle: Cody Abendschein and Josh O’neal (on the glass both ends against two big kids)
  • Best Attitude: the whole team
YBA Xtreme White vs. Reno Ballers Silver - Win
Saturday 3/5/11 at 6:45 p.m.YBA squared off against Reno and won 30 - 13.  The truth, this was the weakest opponent we have played to date.  That said these can be hard games to keep focus and after a slow start we began to move the ball better and created some easy transition baskets to extend and maintain our lead. A win is a win so we take it and move on.  Keys for improvement from this game: offensive execution, finish off transition baskets, maintain perimeter spacing on offense, look for the screener who is rolling, boxing out on defense.

  • Defense player of the game:   Josh O’neal
  • Offense player of the game: Mathew Dzwilewski
  • Best Hustle: Tyrell Minor
  • Best Attitude: Cody Abendschein

YBA Xtreme White vs. EDH  - Loss
Sunday 3/6/11 at 12:15 p.m. YBA squared off against and lost to EDH. YBA came out somewhat flat but played outstanding man defense in the first half keeping this a 5 point game. Then we lost patience against the press and did not come to passes leading to many transition baskets for EDH allowing them to extend the lead for a double digit win.  And we settled for too many outside shots which we did not make out of the continuity of our zone offense.  Keys for improvement: improve ball security (reduce turnovers better passing decisions), offensive and ob play execution, spacing on press break and come to the passes, rebound the ball on the defensive end.
  • Defense player of the game: Josh O’neal
  • Offense player of the game:  none
  • Best Hustle:  whole team
  • Best Attitude:  Cody Abendschein, Josh O’neal
