The YBA varsity Xtreme team was in a tournament this past weekend at hardwood and took third. In their first game Saturday, the team coasted to victory win over the Lodi Flying Tigers. Everyone shared the ball extremely well and they all had solid games both on offense and defense. In the second game they played Team E-time hoops and in an intense overtime situation, they came up just short. There was tremendous effort by all the players. Antony , Lawrence Wright, and Alex Webber had big games. Alex Webber and Jesse Posehn hit shots that were needed while Najee Burge Played good defense bring in some big rebounds. For their final game, they beat Vacaville Christian by 2 points to take third. Everyone stepped it up tremendously. Darrell Polee and Alex Webber hand a great game on both ends of the court. Jesse Posehn and Anthony Pimentel were solid in all the different positions they were asked to play. While Lawrence wright controlled the tempo of the game, after a rough Patch in the third quarter of the game. All in all this was good weekend and everyone played outstanding.
Coaches Final Thought
I am so proud of what we were able to do with two very short practices. This team will continue to get better with time and hard work. We are looking forward to this week's tournament were we will really test what we will be able to do.
