5th Grade Competitive Team-Week 1

The 5th. grade Competitive team played their first game on Sunday against the 4th. grade tournament team and did a very good job! Although we lost the game in the last 7 seconds of the game, the boys played hard and as a team. With only one practice under our belt and no true point guard, we managed to play very competitively with the 4th. grade team which had several YBA DAWGS playing for them. I was proud of Colin and James Sweet for stepping up and taking on the point guard position, neither of them ever playing it before. Mathias was a monster on the boards and was always in great position for the rebounds and put backs. James C. helped the point guards on defense and bringing the ball up the floor, a first for him too! Shamus played everywhere and never backed down to the physical play of their bigs. Harmon came late but he showed up in the 3rd. and 4th. quarter with 10 points! Harmon got physical, posted up and asked for the ball. He played hard and energized his team! Lets keep working on our fundamentals and work hard in practices and we will keep getting better! Keep up the good work!
